hectic day. im dead tired.
i passed 2.4. but barely. ran with liuyi. i feel so hopeless in running lah please! liuyi's sick and yet she ran like half a minute faster than me please! oh my god i should just go and dig a hole in the ground and hide myself.
was damn tired after 2.4 but we had to ban1 all the instruments to boarding for the evening recital. i almost died please. and we had to move the drumset all the way to boarding school. urgh. damn tiring. but we still managed with much help from tan kuo cheang. he's like super strong please! he carried the bass drum like it was nothing lah. oh my.
basically we just went to the function room to run through the whole programme. the movements and stuff. then went for a break. god my fingers almost died.
went for a break where almost all the band people in chamber music were suanning janabel from head to toe for being to llama-ish. haha. then we went for lunch then came back for practice with dr macorome. my god he so damn freakingly pro i cant stand him! haha no lah. he's so nice and he's so pro. i feel so demoralised when i play the bass next to him lah. :/ touched up on alot of stuffs. note ALOT. cause we were like falling apart? :/ practiced trade fours and body language with us. (: and taught me how to mic the bass. haha oh man i love him. we would really have died without him lah.
ban1 the drumset and bass back to school for band prac. i rested cause MY FOURTH FINGER FINALLY DIED ON ME by bursting the bloody blister and breaking my skin. :/ (alliteration! HAHA. ) felt damn pissed with myself afterwards and went around asking for a freaking pathetic plaster for my finger. (alliteration again! god wth is wrong with me? ) then jasmine, mien jun and i took turns to play since we only had 2 basses. i think i rested the most :/ cause whenever there was pizzicato i was like "oh my god IM SO NOT GOING TO PLAY." haha. =x anyway we played really nice songs like aladin, the eighties, disney, shrek dance party! and many many other nice medleys. (:
got dismissed at 5 from band and we went for a "chamber music-band+suyun and ruimin" dinner at KAP. haha. ate with suyun, kexin and ziyan as usual. went back early to move instruments AGAIN to the boarding school. practiced abit more and this time, the blisters on my second finger burst. so great lah. -.-
then had to stop practicing cause concert was starting and janabel kept reminding guanteng to pitch properly. ermps! we were starting to get worried cause 15 minutes to the concert there was barely an sudience. MELANIE FAYE was our first regconised audience haha! (: then donglu, cynthia, sabrina, jiaying, qianwen, quinza and MS CHONG came. omg when ms chong came i died of shock lah. and the brass groups screamed in shock when they saw ms chong walk in please. omg classic. haha.
we finally got a decent amount of audience and the brass enzem started. janabel went crazy over guanteng and her pitching lah. omg janabel's like seriously obsessed with guanteng? haha! i think they did very well! tubas were damn strong lah haha. cheryl and jacey! (: trumpets also! guanteng and rachel! (; then valerie's facial expressions were so damn cute when she was soloing on her trombone please! ziyan and kexin as usual lah. play until so pro and at the end of it like nothing happened like that. haha! (:
then the wind trio (ros, tianhui and xiaohui) wetnt up next and ruimin janabel and i went backstage to prepare. was damn nervous and i was freaking out lah cause i was damn scared that i couldnt play cause of my dead fingers. :/ the wind trio sounded damn pro from outside! o.o ohmy. gave me more pressure. couldnt remember anything else cause i was damn freaking nervous.
then our turn came and i tested the mic before. started abit too fast with now's the time and my finger almost died halfway. ruimin soloed into so danco samba and again our tempo was abit faster then usual. :/ didnt manage to do my slapping thing in the end. ): but overall i think ruimin and janabel did great! especially the trade fours! and we finally manage to play properly like really properly without missing anything out. (:
but then i found out that i couldnt be heard at all even with the mic from the back of the audience. :/ ayee.
the other groups were all needless to say, freaking pro. haha. really really. then ban1 back to school after everything and thanked mr tan and mrs ee of course. (:
during these 5 days i was really tired and practice sessions made it more tiring but it was all fruitful and worth it. i really loved the practice sessions with mr macorome and to think that we wont be able to work with him anymore makes me miss him even more. he was really nice and helpful to us and he's the sole cause of our sucess. (: thanks alot alot alot! <3 (heard from tkc that it costs 150 bucks per hour to work with him! my god. )
anyway, i really hope that this type of sessions will take place more often. looking back, i dont think i would have bothered to talk to people like janabel and ruimin if i wasnt given this chance (not that i dont like them or anything) and the wind trio and brass enzem wouldnt have come together to play so sucessfully. this sabbatical has really made our batch closer and hope that we have more chance to work in these groups in the future! (:
